On Fire For Driving

A Brief History

On Fire is an independent Scottish driving school that commenced business in 2011 and specialises in adaptive learner driver training. The company is based in Irvine, North Ayrshire, Scotland.

On Fire was created by John Ryan, a Grade A Driving and Vehicle Standards Agency Approved Instructor, a member of the Motor Schools Association and the ADINJC. John was previously an instructor with BSM, but felt the need for a new approach to learner driver tuition which could only be achieved as an independent.

John was quickly joined by Doug Robertson, ADI, also previously with BSM and RED. Together they formed the core of On Fire, and the company rapidly grew into a thriving school. Their flexible, relaxed teaching style and excellent pass record, coupled with a community-linked approach to promotion, has established the company as a force to be reckoned with in a busy market.

‘I believe it’s our enthusiasm for driving, and our interest in the way different people drive, that sets us apart, and draws people to come learn with us. Our hope is that, as they progress to their full licence, we convey some of this passion, this interest; making them more knowledgeable, aware and happier drivers, and by extension, the roads safer for everyone.’
